NANZIBA serves as the regional organization for the Bioenergetic Institutes and Societies of North America, New Zealand, and China. It provides information links and between the local groups and the International institute of Bioenergetic Analysis.

NANZIBA’s Mission

Support the growth and development of local Bioenergetic Institutes/Societies within the region.
Position Bioenergetics Analysis as a prominent therapeutic modality within professional circles and the community at large.
Facilitate communication amongst local societies and between the IIBA Board of Trustees and the local societies.
Represent and communicate the goals of the member societies to the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis.

Purpose

The North America and New Zealand Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (NANZIBA) is a volunteer-run non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting Bioenergetic Analysis, which is a form of psychotherapy, to both psychotherapists and the general community. NANZIBA supports the work of our local Institutes and fosters cooperation between local Institutes. NANZIBA assists local Institutes in providing information to the general population about the benefit of Bioenergetic Analysis.

Bioenergetic Approach

Modern Bioenergetic Therapy is a highly effective psychotherapy that combines work with the body and the mind in the context of a therapeutic relationship to help people change at a deep level. With roots in traditional psychoanalysis, orientation to somatic practice and integration of current neuroscience research, Bioenergetic Therapy offers a holistic modality for healing.

Bioenergetic psychotherapy takes place in the relationship between the therapist and the client. In session, the client can become aware of old patterns and try new ways of feeling, thinking, and being. The goal is becoming more fully oneself. A bioenergetic psychotherapy session is an analytical, body & relational therapy. You will do verbal work, body work and bodily exercises.

Verbal work consists of the history of the client (to understand her/his psychodynamics, and relate to the present moment.

Body work consists of how history of the client is structured in their body in the form of blocks and tensions.

Bodily exercises help the client to release tension and release vital energy to live in the present.
